Building Stronger Communities:
Better
Services, Economic Growth, Solutions That Work
"Task Force members dedicated considerable time
and were diligent in exchanging points of view, learning from each other, and
discussing issues in broad terms. Our Task Force was a diverse group,
representing local government and the business community, and was able to meld
ideas and opinions on how to best deliver local government services for
the benefi t of all our communities urban or rural, small or large
throughout British Columbia."

Building A Stronger Future For All Canadians:
The External Advisory Committee on Cities and
Communities delivered it's Final Report on June 15, 2006.
"The Committees membership includes a
remarkable diversity of perspectives. We were drawn from communities large and
small, from backgrounds in business, politics, community service, the arts and
academia, and from viewpoints that span the political spectrum. Yet early on in
our investigations we found among ourselves a growing consensus about the need
for fundamental change in the relationship between communities and governments,
and for a profound shift in thinking across government, business and the
community."
Mike Harcourt, Committee
