(COMPLETED) Northern Emergency Social Services Training Weekend Project
March 2013

The NESST weekend brought together forty five Emergency Social Service representatives from 100 Mile
House, north to the Yukon boarder, east to Alberta and west to the coast. Participants included Northern BC municipal and regional Emergency Social Services Teams.

  • Recommendation 1: Facilitate inter-community and regional planning and response where it will provide efficiencies and increase overall emergency preparedness.
  • Recommendation 3: Improve training, recruitment, and retention of emergency staff and volunteers by creating synergies at the inter-community and regional level.
