Mayor Taylor Bachrach
Town of Smithers

Taylor Bachrach was elected mayor of Smithers in 2011 after serving a three-year term as a municipal councillor in the Village of Telkwa. He also owns and runs Bachrach Communications, a small web design and marketing company based in Smithers. His clients include small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, First Nations and elected officials across Canada and the United States.

Taylor volunteers extensively in Smithers and the Bulkley Valley. He is a past chair of the Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board and a director of the Driftwood Foundation. He has volunteered with the Bulkley Valley Credit Union since 2006 and has also been involved in the Smithers Public Library.
Taylor holds an honours degree in Geography from the University of Victoria. He lives in Smithers with his wife Michelle and their two daughters, Ella (6) and Madeleine (4). In his spare time, Taylor enjoys skiing, mountain biking and canoeing.
