Title: Barkerville's Travelling Exhibit to China: Who Am I? Bridging the Pacific – From Guandong to Barkerville and Back

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The Barkerville Heritage Trust is developing a travelling exhibit complete withphotos, dioramas, artifacts and books dedicated to the Chinese people that came to BC during the Gold rush. The goals of this exhibit are to create important links for research and communication with museums and academic institutions on both sides of the Pacific, to enhance awareness of Barkerville in China and increase tourism in BC and Canada.

Title: Regional Farmers' Market Logo and Signage Project
Date: Approved June 2011
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Farmers' Markets within the Regional District of Bulkley‐Nechako (RDBN)have formed the Bulkley‐Nechako‐Stuart Farmers' Markets (BSNFM). Working together through meetings facilitated by the RDBN, the group has fostered cooperativeness versus competitiveness. The project hired a Project Coordinator, held a logo contest and selected a Regional Farmers' Market Logo. Signage and banners with the Regional Logo will be installed and the RDBN website will host the Regional Farmers' Market Information.

Title: The Five Rivers Culture Crawl

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The project will aggressively develop cultural tourism in the target area to attract more tourists and to provide multiple choices and opportunities to extend their stay in the Five Rivers Culture Crawl district. The Culture Crawl will reflect the uniqueness of the region and when operational, provide direct financial benefits to Museums, local businesses (hotels, restaurants, merchants, and outfitters) and colleges. It is anticipated that this will be an economic driver, creating direct seasonal employment and small businesses start‐up opportunities. The Five Rivers Culture Crawl (5RCC) is anticipated to be completed in three phases: Foundation, Research and Development; Funding the Design and Implementation of the Strategies; and Launch, Implementation & Review Processes.
